Welcome to Mariner Construction!

Founded in 2020 by Justin Lovely and Gabe Giguere, we are a growing construction company located in central Maine. Owners Justin and Gabe first met playing sports against each other at rival high schools. Later they went on to both attend Maine Maritime Academy where their partnership grew. Post graduation they both spent several years sailing as unlimited horsepower engineers on merchant vessels all around the world. But being gone for long periods of time can be tough, and so Mariner Construction was born. We are bringing our varied backgrounds and education together to bring high-quality work to the great state of Maine. We are convinced that you will find our services to be of the highest quality and integrity.

We are confident that by the end of our projects together you will be part of the Mariner family.

Meet the Team

Gabe Giguere, Co-Owner

Born in Manchester, Maine, Gabe grew up in his dad’s shadow. Working in the garage, on snowmobile trails, sleds, boats whatever it may be. Growing up he spent a lot of time in the boy scouts, eventually earning the rank of Eagle. He played three sports all through high school, and eventually was the captain on the basketball and lacrosse teams. Ever since a young child Gabe has loved to ‘tinker’ on things. This inherent desire to figure out how things worked led him to choosing Maine Maritime Academy. He used to say it was the perfect mix of his mental and physical abilities. During the summers off Gabe worked for a millwork shop building and installing commercial cabinets. At a young age he grew fond of his uncle Bruce who was a carpenter. In between sports and school, he would spend his weekends and summers “pounding nails”. This is really where Gabe grew an appreciation for high-quality construction. After graduating Gabe began setting his sights on his own home. After many years of never finding the right place in the real estate market, he eventually found, “The Land” through a family friend. The rest is history. He began working on “the land” while he was home, picking away at projects. After a long 2022-2023 year he finally finished!

Justin Lovely, Co-Owner

Justin Lovely grew up in West Gardiner before attending Maine Maritime Academy where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Helping solve problems or bring customer visions to life is his favorite part of the job. Have an idea that may seem too big? Justin is your guy to make it happen. Justin completed Eljen septic training and is a certified Eljen installer

If you see Justin, his pup Enzo is likely right behind (or ahead) of him checking out the job site. When he isn’t working, you’ll find Justin remodeling his own home, hunting, fly or ice fishing, or spending time with his friends and family.

Richard Hall

Richard grew up in Mount Vernon on his family’s farm. Rumor has it he was operating equipment for his dad before he could walk. We will leave that for the locals to decide. Richard had worked in a motor shop and in an industrial cabinetry shop before he came to work with us. We are grateful for his experiences in life and they help us everyday! When Richard isn’t in the excavator you can find him hanging out with his son Ryker and working on his own house. If you see Richard make sure to wave to him, he’s probably wishing he had another set of hands!
